COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Advice

Information for students, prospective students, staff and the community on the University's response to COVID-19.

Our campus is fully open. This academic year, we are maximising on-campus learning and teaching as far as possible, aiming to ensure that our students have a quality student experience from day 1.

Please be reassured that the University is following guidance from Health Protection Scotland and the Scottish and UK governments.  On this website, you can also read a summary on our approach to teaching and learning in the 21/22 year. You can also find our route map for a return to normal operations.

FAQs and updates for students and staff

See below for frequently asked questions (FAQs) for students and staff which reflect the current position and which we hope you will find reassuring.  Also on this website, you can find our regular coronavirus updates for students and staff.

We will continue to keep this website updated. Should there be any major changes we will inform the University community directly.

If you have a medical question, you can call NHS Inform on 0800 028 2816, or use the NHS web chat tool.

The Scottish Government has created a website with specific guidance for students.

SAAS has created a webpage with specific guidance for students in halls of residence.

Regular testing for students and staff

We are offering an 'LFD Collect' service on campus through which students and staff can collect lateral flow devices for testing themselves twice weekly at home.   For information see our Testing and Vaccination page.

Looking forward to the future

With our focus on addressing the issues facing society through education and research, and our strong social justice ethos, we look forward to playing our part as society re-adjusts and re-calibrates beyond the pandemic.
