Clinics

In addition to having a wide range of specialist clinical facilities for use by students of various allied health professional courses, we have podiatry clinics which are open to the public. These clinics take advantage of our dedicated podiatry facilities which include a surgical theatre suite, a multi-chaired clinic and an orthotics suite.

In addition to the on-site facilities, excellent community teaching clinics are available in Leith, which are open to everyone.

Before booking an initial appointment, you will be required to fill in a short form, available from any of the clinics to ensure that you attend the correct resource.

You will then be invited to book a session at one of our podiatry clinics, where you will be assessed for treatment by one of our students, who are fully supervised by our experienced members of staff - thus benefiting not only you but also giving our students valuable clinical experience.

We have three clinics available:

Nail Clinic

This is situated on campus and is held on Thursdays, throughout term time only. For appointments at our clinic call us on Tel: 0131 474 0000.

Biomechanics Clinic

The functioning of the body can be affected by structural disorders of the leg and foot. The student practitioner will assess you for any biomechanical dysfunction, recommending the next course of action to correct the problem. This clinic is held on Wednesday afternoons from 1.30 p.m., during term-time. For appointments at our clinic call us on Tel: 0131 474 0000.

Community Clinic

This joint initiative is organised in conjunction with NHS Lothian. Available Monday - Friday, during term-time, routine podiatry is offered at the clinic, held at Inchkeith House on Leith Walk, Edinburgh.

At present, no charges are levied although this is currently being reviewed and it will apply only to orthoses, prescribed in our biomechanics' clinic.
