Postgraduate Research Study at QMU

Our postgraduate research courses can form the foundation of an academic career or indeed act as continuous professional development (CPD) in many professions. We offer two routes for doctoral study: PhD and Professional Doctorates. In addition, we offer a Master's of Research and a Master's of Clinical Research, which each offer a first step towards an academic research career.

You will also find information on the QMU Graduate School.  All of our doctoral students are members of the QMU Graduate School,  which is designed to bring together people and good practice, enhancing the doctoral student experience.

Research and Knowledge Exchange

We are offering a 10% discount in postgraduate tuition fees for alumni who have graduated with an undergraduate degree from the University’s Edinburgh campus. This discount is available for students who register for a full or part-time postgraduate degree.

This discount applies to home and international students, and applies to the self-funded element of the postgraduate tuition fee only. Self-funded fees include those supported by a tuition fee loan. This discount does not apply to any part of the tuition fee which is covered by a scholarship, funding body, your employer, a company, or any other source of funding.
